If you call

If you call

A member of our admissions team answers - typically within a few rings. They'll introduce themselves, ask how they can help, and listen to whatever you're comfortable sharing. There's no script you need to follow and no pressure to make immediate decisions. If you're just gathering information, that's perfectly fine. If you're ready to move forward, they can start the admissions process right then.

You'll receive a response within 24 hours, usually much faster during business hours. Our team will address your questions and, if appropriate, suggest a phone conversation to discuss your situation in more detail. Complex questions about insurance coverage or clinical appropriateness are often easier to address by phone.

If you're unsure what to say

If you're unsure what to say

You don't need to have your thoughts perfectly organized. You can simply say, "I'm struggling and I think I might need help," or "I'm calling about my son/daughter/spouse." Our team will guide the conversation from there.

For Families and Loved Ones

If you’re researching treatment for someone you care about, we want you to know: you’re not alone in this, and reaching out on their behalf is a meaningful act of love.

Our admissions team regularly works with family members who are:

  • Worried about a loved one’s mental health but unsure how to help
  • Trying to understand treatment options before approaching their family member
  • Ready to help coordinate admission for someone who has agreed to treatment
  • Looking for guidance on how to have a difficult conversation

You can call us to ask questions, gather information, and discuss your concerns – even if your loved one doesn’t know you’re reaching out yet. Everything you share remains confidential.

Visit our Family Resources page for additional guidance on supporting someone through mental health challenges.

Verify Your Insurance

Before you call, you may want to have your insurance information handy. Our admissions team can verify your behavioral health benefits and explain your coverage during your first conversation.

What we’ll check:

  • Whether your plan covers residential mental health treatment
  • In-network vs. out-of-network benefit levels
  • Your deductible, copay, and coinsurance amounts
  • Estimated out-of-pocket costs
  • Prior authorization requirements

Insurance verification is free and comes with no obligation. Understanding your coverage doesn’t commit you to anything – it simply gives you the information you need to make an informed decision.

Visit our Insurance Verification page to submit your information online, or call (270) 355-7231 to verify benefits over the phone.

We work with most major insurance providers. Visit our Insurance page to see a list of accepted plans.

FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my call really confidential?

Absolutely. Every conversation with our team – whether by phone, email, or in person – is completely confidential and protected by healthcare privacy laws. We will never share your information without your explicit consent. If you’re calling about a family member, that conversation is confidential too.

What if I'm not sure I need treatment?

That’s okay. Many people who call us aren’t certain whether they need residential care, outpatient therapy, or something else entirely. Our admissions coordinators can help you assess your situation and understand your options. If we believe a different type of treatment would serve you better, we’ll tell you honestly – and help connect you with appropriate resources.

Can I call just to ask questions without committing to anything?

Yes. There’s no obligation attached to calling. You can ask questions, gather information, and take time to think before making any decisions. Many people call multiple times over days or weeks before they’re ready to move forward, and that’s completely normal.

What should I do if I'm in crisis right now?

Call us immediately at (270) 355-7231. Our team is available 24/7 and trained to help people in difficult moments. If you’re having thoughts of harming yourself or others and need immediate emergency assistance, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

How do I get a loved one into treatment if they're resistant?

This is one of the most challenging situations families face. While we cannot admit someone against their will (except in specific crisis situations involving imminent danger), we can offer guidance on how to approach the conversation, what signs indicate urgent need, and when professional intervention may be appropriate. Call us to discuss your specific situation – we’ve helped many families navigate these difficult dynamics.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth treatment?

Yes. In addition to our residential program, Kentucky Wellness Center offers virtual mental health treatment for individuals who prefer or require remote care. Visit our Virtual Mental Health Treatment page to learn more about our telehealth services.

What's the admissions process like?

Our admissions process is designed to be simple and supportive. It typically includes an initial phone conversation, insurance verification, a clinical assessment, and scheduling your admission date. Same-day admissions are available when circumstances require immediate care. Visit our Admissions Process page for a detailed overview of each step.
